I was composing a reply to donbuggy when nagkaglitch at nakaiinis na nawala ang medyo mahab-haba nang reply describing what constitues a classic work of art.

Hope you don't mind lakihan ko font for easier reading (hindi pagsigaw).

Hindi lang talaga sa mga work of arts magandang i-apply ang rules ng humanities concerning what makes works of arts classical or not.

Repetion, complimenting, progression from one poin to another, contrasting, juxtopositioning of lines and colors and other tools for creating art works not necessarily have to be restricted to paintings, sculptures and the different traditional art forms.

Actually puwedeng masabi na ang creation ng vehicle design ay isang form of sculpture.

I was fortunate to ride a Yutung air-con bus yesterday morning on the way to Salcedo Village in Makati and was amazed at the intererior design of the bus that blended in functionality. Napa-wow ako with their overhead aircon vents and the incorporated reading lights na flat above the heads of the passengers na ang flow of lines from the sides from the back towards the front was continuos and gracefu na nag-converge to a covered comaprtment for a TV set. Nothing protruding from the graceful flow of the lines and no erratic sudden disturbance ng flow.

You have access to cold air by pushing on an oval design that suddenly proturdes a rounded off vents that can be positionedat any agle and rotated within a 360 degree turn. (lakas at lamig ng air-con na first time I shut off the flow in my riding air-con vehicles)

The sealed directed reading lights where also flat on the overhead surface along with their switches.

Galing pa ng design ng shades on the front windshields that had round stainless steel guides that was like a sculpture attached to the curved picture windo-like front windshield.

The side wind shieled were of custom made curve glass around4 ft in height and around 7 length that was connected to a rounded off rectagular framework of the bus.

May black paint design on the side windows that is simply for art purposes but positioned that the Sprayed on? or was it incorporated when they made the galass windshield? does not obstruct viewing the outside of the bus.

Even the curtain design was fantastice na parang sinamay fabrick na see-through that where folded that a whole 3 feet section folds up into an inch and a half sections and compress and held by a velco binderto only about an inch and a half also that they "disappear" from view since they look like complementing color designs instead of curtains.

The clor and lines were fantastic... first time I really appreciated the design of the interior of a bus.

The feel was brought about by the designers use ofthe rules of classic designing and not what is in vogue at present, na a lot of times I find loud and vulgar designs and or choreography, as with dance routines.

Karamihan ay talgang surealistic and disconnected as well as disoriented ang lines and colors na kung di man nakakainis, onre would just deadma and just don't mind the irritation.

Same thing with vehicles now-a-days, madami di mo na lang papansinin at talgang kahit na makikintab, mamahalin at bago--- pangit.

Some of the more classic designed cars are the Civic '95, the ModelT ng Ford, the Fortuner, the Lancer '79, L 300 van atbp.

These models conform to the rules of creating classic designs.

Of course the car makers want to keep on selling cars kaya hindi nila sinusunod kadalasan and rule for classic designs para magsawa kaagad ang mga bumili't nagmay-ari ng sasakyan kaya't tuloy ang ligaya sa pagbebenta.

Reponse ko lang kay Donbuggy on jeepney design, kinda like the DPROX kung magagwang jeepney. It follows the rules ng classic designs at sa tingin ko'y medyo matagal-tagl bago mapagsawaan ng tao ang itsura nito. As to ideal design basta flowing graceful smooth lines with no jarring sharp corners sa design ok siguro. #
